I heart lightroom presets.

Anybody recognize where these photographs were taken? If you don't I guess you  don't walk around staring at the sky all day?

Oh hello there, have you met the one eyed monster?

.. no but seriously? ook ook perhaps I have too much time on my hands today...

SOO after DT this past week I have been inspired to create more and more presets and sometimes, it gets me pretty excited.  I created this one using split toning and lots and lots of vibrance and saturation and I think the results prettttyyy cooool! Had to share.. this one here made me "Oooohhhhhh" and "AaaaaHH" just a tid :) the originals pretty boring.  I have spiced up my photos life. haha lame. yes yes i know.

Just a few shots to share

Tuesday morning coffee gitters of glee

Finally a day where sitting down isn't triggering guilt! I love when the week wraps right around again to Tuesday!  I wake up on Tuesday mornings later than usual, look around, stretch, smile and yet out this cheering like laugh of pure happiness.  Its the only day off for kelly in the week and IT is a magical moment to say the least.

But then after about three cups of coffee, a half hour of slowly stalking some of your friends on facebook, two hours of lightroom and about an hour downloading new music for the pod your like, "huh, what the frig am I going to do with this day?"... well quite frankly if it wasn't -37 I would be out shooting... Why oh why on my day off does it capture the weekly cold weather low!?

oh ps.... if you like to bob around on your computer chair/ couch, whatever you indulge upon while doing such things as blogging, download: You me and the Bourgeoisie by the Submarines.

You won't regret it!

Movie Week Extravaganza

Born into Brothels:
I really enjoyed this film.  I thought that the
cinematography  was gorgeous and the narrative to be extremely moving.  The story of this woman doing so much for these children was heart warming and inspiring.  I love seeing children getting passionate for something such as photography and art.  It was unbelievable to see some of the photos that they took and I must say, as much as I wouldn't want to be in their shoes, they do have some amazing scenery and people to photograph.  This movie really inspired me to maybe make a difference and inspire more children to get into art and photography and see the beauty that the world has to offer.

Pecker:
I really enjoyed this movie it was a lot of fun!  I had no idea going into this movie what it was about, who was in it and such and was very pleased afterwards.  I really enjoy the actors and actresses in it they fit the parts perfectly!  I think It was great how Pecker ran around spontaneously  snapping shots off, makes me jealous that I don't have the guts to do such a thing.  His images were pretty awesome... I wonder who actually took those!  One objection although... Ross warned our group of before hand that for being a film on photography they don't pay close attention to the technical aspects of photography. Such as the scene in Pecker's darkroom and the snapping of photos and shutter speeds not synced.
The movie made me want to step out of my comfort zone a bit and maybe try doing more street photography... but, I dont think I will!

Brother where art thou:
Well... bad news here, last week by friday I was oober sick and had no voice... So I didn't attend the movie. tisk tisk I know.

Can You Relate?

Late afternoon, another day is nearly done
A darker grey is breaking through a lighter one
A thousand sharpened elbows in the underground
That hollow hurried sound, feet on polished floor
And in the dollar store, the clerk is closing up
And counting loonies trying not to say

I hate Winnipeg

The driver checks the mirror seven minutes late
The crowded riders' restlessness enunciates
The Guess Who sucked, the Jets were lousy anyway
The same route everyday
And in the turning lane
Someone’s stalled again
He’s talking to himself
And hears the price of gas repeat his phrase

I hate Winnipeg

And up above us all
Leaning into sky
Our golden business boy
Will watch the North End die
And sing, “I love this town”
Then let his arcing wrecking ball proclaim

I
Hate
Winnipeg

once upon a beautiful day

It twas such a beautiful day in the neighborhood today... And I am quite sure it was in yours too.

This beautiful, sunny, big blue-skyed day started early this morning with making a new ipod playlist and a pancake breakfast with one of my best friends Alycia. Pretty good day so far... I did some errands (wasn't too bad either), theeeennn the time to get some shooting done was in check... I was so pleased with the overall weather I had to get out there!!! Here are  a couple shots from the day! more to come soon
